The S-9000 was a fully solid-state stereo integrated amplifier with a continuous sine-wave power rating of 50 watts per channel (with both channels operating). Power bandwidth was from 12 to 23,000 Hz at 1% distortion with harmonic distortion (at rated power) 0.5% and 0.15% at normal listening levels.

The solid state output circuits had full short-circuit protection.

The S-9000's front panel controls included a function selector (tape-head, phono, tuner and auxiliary), stereo/mono mode selector, bass, treble, loudness and balance. Switches were provided for tape-monitoring, high and low-frequency filters, loudness compensation, phasing and power on/off. A stereo headphone jack was also provided. Tone controls were of the Baxendall type.

An improved version, the S-9000AS was released in 1966 with a rated power output of 75 watts per channel.

Price when new, around $300 plus $7.50 for the walnut-tone leatherette case. Today's value around $250 for a working, nicely presented example.
