For the ASR-433 'Stereo 24' , Stromberg-Calson proudly declared that they were 'out of the battle of exaggerated specifications' and that their specifications were accurate and conservative. This was a 12-watt per channel unit stereo integrated amplifier with separate treble, bass and loudness control for each channel A unique feature was the internal electronic crossover which could be used to drive two speaker systems (one per channel) when the system was in mono mode.

Eight tubes were used in the circuitry; 2 x 12AX7/ECC82, 2 x 6AV6, 2 x 6U8 and 4 x EL84 with solid state rectifier. Inputs were provided for magnetic phono, ceramic phono, tape head, tape playback, tuner and auxiliary with equalisation set to RIAA (magnetic phono) and NARTB (tape head). The bass control gave 15dB cut and boost and the treble 12dB boost and 14dB cut.

Available in two styles (metallic or black) the ASR 433 was priced at $129.95 when new (plus $8.95 for a top cover). Today's value is around the $450 mark for a nicely preserved, functioning example.
