This long-defunct (I assume) Scottish company and located at 435 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. There is almost no information available about Kerr McCosh, but according to the Hi-Fi yearbooks from the early 1950s through to the early 1970s, only a few amplifers were produced between 1962-71. The entire range consisted of the DS1 stereo control unit and three mono valve amplifiers. The amplifiers were made in small numbers and are seldom seen on the market today, however they are of extremely high quality and should make an excellent addition to any collection.

The CWA-10 was a 10-watt mono amplifier with high quality transformers and components. The DS1 stereo preamplifier was originally designed to be used with a pair of CWA-10s, but later was partnered with the larger CWA-40, (40 watt mono-block) which was created two years later in 1964. Both the DS1 and CWA-40 remained in production until 1971, after which Kerr McCosh seemed to disappear from the Hi-Fi scene.

Prices when new:
CWA 10 mono power amplifier £24 each
DS1 stereo control unit £34

Approximate current value (depending on condition):
CWA 10 mono power amplifier £100 - £200
DS1 stereo control unit £150 - £225
